1. The US Grant
The US Grant is a Gaslamp landmark in Marriott’s luxury collection and has been one of THE places to stay for over 100 years. Savor the Four Diamond flavors of the Grant Grill while taking in the glamourous, Art Deco-inspired architecture. Or you can choose to host, or be lucky enough to be invited to, an event in a venue that was once used as a prohibition-era speakeasy. The rooms and amenities have embraced sustainability, contemporary styling, opulent touches, and top-of-the-line technology. You can find The US Grant at 326 Broadway and the corner of Fourth Avenue.

This sophisticated, luxury San Diego hotel has flawless classic and modern styling, giving it a worldly, international-chic feel. The Pendry San Diego makes for an exceptional getaway with amenities like a rooftop pool, six restaurants and bars, and even a spa. 3. Hard Rock Hotel
Just two words: sleek and sexy! When the Hard Rock Hotel moved into the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter just a few blocks from Petco Park, they brought the party. On weekends from March 25th until September 30th, party like a rockstar at the Liquid Sunshine pool parties while enjoying the exhilarating day club. Dance through the night to some of the best DJs in EDM as the rooftop venue is taken over by LED Presents. You can find the Hard Rock Hotel at 207 Fifth Avenue and the corner of L Street.

4. Alma
New and redesigned, the Kimpton Alma San Diego is in the heart of the Gaslamp Quarter while being close enough to hop on over to Little Italy. This particular property channels San Diego’s rich Mexican heritage into the chic, stylish lobby, while The Desmond restaurant features farm-to-table ingredients. With four different restaurants, a rooftop pool, and various other amenities. You can find Kimpton Alma San Diego at 1047 Fifth Avenue.
5. Andaz San Diego
The Andaz hit the radar something fierce when word spread that Prince Harry was staying here during a trip to San Diego, and he chivalrously rescued a woman from being bumped into the rooftop pool. Royals aside, nights at the rooftop bar are seriously bumping every weekend. From the modern feel to the hip art and electrifying nightlife, the Andaz is one of the best hotels to stay at in San Diego’s Gaslamp District. You can find the Andaz at 600 F Street, nestled between Sixth and Seventh Avenue.
6. Moxy
The Moxy is part of Marriott’s boutique hotel collection and lives up to its name by being a force of nature. Start off your stay with a complimentary cocktail from Bar Moxy in the lobby while you ease into the modern Southern California chic feel of the décor. Eco-certified and within viewing distance from the ballpark? Sounds fantastic! In addition to being in the heart of the Gaslamp, Hotel Indigo radiates the energy of this bright city. With the contemporary feel, various eateries, and relaxing rooftop bar, you’ll be left feeling content and rejuvenated. You can find Hotel Indigo at 509 Ninth Avenue and the corner of Island Avenue.
8. Hotel Z
Sweet on the inside, not necessarily tough on the outside, but definitely a crown, Hotel Z is famous for its pineapple-iness. After you’ve checked in and picked up your welcome drink, you can settle into your room, or postpone your welcome drink and take advantage of the beach cruisers available for guests to use. You can find Hotel Z at 521 Sixth Avenue.

10. The Omni
Wondering what to do in Gaslamp, San Diego? Come baseball season, one of the best things about The Omni is the direct access sky bridge into Petco Park to help you avoid all those pesky, overcrowded lines. Not only a AAA Four Diamond hotel with a swimming pool, a spa, and various dining options, but they are also kid-friendly and the best place to recharge when not exploring the city. You can find The Omni at 675 L Street on the corner of Tony Gwynn Drive.
11. Hotel Solamar
Solamar captures the San Diego spirit with its coastal contemporary feel while showcasing references to local history. They offer a variety of amenities with locally sourced and sustainable dining options. Choose to eat street level at JSix for a serene experience or grab a drink at Upper East, the rooftop pool bar, via the private elevator and mingle with a mix of locals and guests. You can find Solamar San Diego at 435 Sixth Avenue on the corner of J Street.
12. Manchester Grand Hyatt
One of the most iconic buildings in the Downtown San Diego skyline and one of the best hotels in San Diego’s Gaslamp District, the Manchester Grand Hyatt is a gorgeous resort hotel with bay and city views. One of my favorite things about the Manchester Grand is enjoying the sunset at the Top of the Hyatt, an elegant craft cocktail bar with light eats and 360-degree views, on the fortieth floor. During the day, relax at one of their two rooftop pools with a frosty beverage and enjoy the sunshine or enjoy a bite to eat at any of their eight on-site restaurants. Located adjacent to Seaport Village, there are plenty of kid-friendly activities close by, including bike rentals and the vintage Seaport Village Carousel. You can find the Manchester Grand Hyatt at 1 Market Place.

13. There is No Number Thirteen
Ever get in a hotel elevator and have someone ask you to press ‘13’? Jokes on you, there is no thirteenth floor! The simple explanation is triskaidekaphobia; the fear of the number thirteen. Early building designers had a superstitious fear of a fire breaking out on the thirteenth floor of a high-rise, so they omitted the thirteenth floor altogether. The practice of skipping the ‘unlucky floor’ and continuing straight on to fourteen has been happening for so long that people have stopped noticing it.
14. Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina
Situated waterfront on the Marina, the Marriott Marquis San Diego is an absolutely stunning property with towering, mirrored buildings. The tropical, sprawling pool area has available private cabanas, and a poolside bar with fire pits and is only steps away from the boardwalk. Hungry? The Marriott Marquis has several dining options, including the lobby level Marina Kitchen for American comfort food, the poolside Tequila Bar & Grill for Mexican favorites, a Roy’s Asian-Fusion is situated on the property harborside, the Bayside Lounge featuring Topgolf Swing Suite for interactive games, a grab-and-go Exchange, the M Club Lounge for light bites and drinks, as well as a Starbucks. All of this while being attached to the San Diego Convention Center for the most convenient walk to Comic Con or a short distance to the ballpark and the best of the Gaslamp Quarter and Seaport Village. You can find the Marriott Marquis at 333 W Harbor Drive, at the end of Front Street.
