La Jolla Village is known for its shopping by day, but did you know it’s also a happening place at night? Start your evening with the monthly First Friday Art Walk, where galleries open their doors to showcase local talent. You can register for the August 2024 event here. Enjoy dinner at Marisi, a local favorite known for its delicious Italian cuisine and warm ambiance. Cap off the night with a captivating piano, jazz, or dance show at The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, a premier venue. La Jolla Village offers an unforgettable San Diegan night out, combining art, fine dining, and live entertainment.
2. SPEND SOME ‘HAPPY HOURS’ AROUND THE DEL
To enjoy a wonderful beachy, breezy San Diegan evening, either hop in your car or on the ferry to Coronado. The ferry drops you off within walking distance of many lovely restaurants to enjoy a nice happy hour — one of our favorites is Stake Chophouse & Bar, a renowned steakhouse that serves discounted happy hour libations daily from 4:30-6:30 p.m.
After happy hour, you can either head over to the Hotel Del Coronado to enjoy another drink and sea-to-table dining experience at the Serẽa Sunset Bar, live music and drinks at the Sun Deck Sun-Thu, 11 am – 9 pm, Fri & Sat, 11 am – 10 pm, tropical drinks and fish tacos at the Beach & Tacho Shack daily until 8 pm, or late-night craft cocktails and tasty bites at Babcock & Story Bar, named for The Del’s founders until midnight (and 1:00 am on the weekends!)
You can cap the night off with a leisurely stroll around the iconic grounds, or bring out your inner child enjoying a night of ice skating in the winter or roller skating during the summer at The Del’s oceanside rink!
Once you’re done for the night, drive home or take the ferry back to your car. The ferry service departs from the Coronado Ferry Landing or the San Diego Convention Center. On weeknights, the last ferry from Coronado to downtown is at 9:00 PM, and on Fridays and Saturdays, it’s at 10:00 pm. The San Diego Convention Center route runs later, with the last ferry at 9:30 om on weeknights and 10:30 pmon Fridays and Saturdays.
