San Diego today boasts a large variety of seafood options, paying homage to the early tuna industry that helped shape the city. In the early 1900s tuna was the largest industry in San Diego and brought fishermen from around the world to work for “ the tuna capital of the world.” The San Diego seafood scene also has a large Baja influence, and therefore, many of our best seafood picks have a strong (and delicious) Mexican flair to them. This place is one of our favorite places to indulge in the oceans finest foods. The abundance of fresh and amazing seafood here is like no other place in San Diego. The market sells the freshest fish that is in season including shellfish! Don’t feel like doing the cooking? This Point Loma treasure is a must try for any seafood connoisseur.
3) Blue Point Coastal Cuisine: $$$
Our idea of a great night out in downtown San Diego includes dinner at Blue Point. Weekday only happy hour starts at 5pm (until 6:30) and is the perfect compliment to our favorite dish, shrimp and clams linguini.
